Music Boosters
What are the music boosters? We're parents who care a lot about music, realize the benefits of music education for our children (see http://www.childrensmusicworkshop.com/advocacy/benefits.html for a nice summary), and also realize that due to the ongoing budget crisis affecting many California schools the music program at BMMS could be negatively impacted.
BMMS has a long tradition of having an exceptional music program, with world-class teachers that are second to none. We want to help the teachers and students live up to the high standards that have been set in the past by providing them with additional financial support. This support will be obtained through hassle-free donations from parents, as well as corporate sponsorship. Funds collected specifically for the music programs will be spent only on the music programs. Below is a list of some of the current needs:
| Band: | $4000-$5000 per year on music (pieces can run up to $300 each), instrument repairs, transportation, and miscellaneous instructional supplies. After paying for those essentials we use any additional funds we have each year to purchase a few new instruments to update our aging inventory and those in need of repair. |

Accompanist ~ $1000 Need music chairs for rehearsal (regular school chairs aren't conducive to good posture)…~$75 each, need at least 40 |
| Orchestra: | ~40 music stands with a rack for storage to keep in the gym.
(Wenger Music stands are ~$50 each and Wenger stand rack ~$450)

15 1/2" viola and a 16" viola ~ $350 each
4 violins ~ $300 each |
* All instruments have been purchased at a discount from Bertrand's Music in the past.
